Daily Bible Verse ~ Acts 26:24-25

Act 26:24-25 ESV And as he was saying these things in his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are out of your mind; your great learning is driving you out of your mind.” (25) But Paul said, “I am not out of my mind, most excellent Festus, but I am speaking true and rational words.

Reading through the book of Acts is like opening up a wonderful adventure in the beginnings of our Christian faith. Paul’s story is filled with beautifull portraits of God’s amazing hand working in the lives of the believers. As with Paul, in today’s verses, we too encounter those who think we have gone mad. Our conversion to the Christian faith is greeted not with open arms, but insults and concern from those we love. Yet, we are confident that the words we speak regarding our faith are rational words straight from the mouth of God. So today I am reminded that opposition will come when I am speaking about what I believe. Insults and questions will come. Strife and aggression may come. But through it all I am confident that I am speaking true and rational words that the Lord has given me as I proclaim the Message throughout the world.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for opening my eyes to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I ask today that you help me walk boldly in the faith and to have an answer to those who ask. I pray that through my challenges and joys you receive all the glory and your name will be great among the people. You are an awesome God and I praise you today. Amen
